These terms are a beta policy draft. They are subject to institutional review and may change before the Gateway’s public release.
1. Scope and acceptance
These terms apply to use of the Asia-Pacific Tech Gateway (“the Gateway”). By using the Gateway, you agree to these terms and to any notices displayed in connection with an indexed technology source.
The Gateway is provided for informational, research and technology-discovery purposes.
2. What the Gateway provides
The Gateway helps users discover technology offers and patent-related information indexed from national, institutional and international source platforms. It may combine locally indexed metadata with results retrieved from external application programming interfaces.
The original source platform remains the authoritative location for each technology record, its availability, ownership, transfer conditions, patent status and contact information.
During the beta period, search coverage, classifications, source availability and functionality may change without notice.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the Gateway for lawful, non-commercial discovery and research. You must not:
- interfere with, damage, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Gateway or its infrastructure;
- use automated requests in a manner that disrupts the Gateway or exhausts the quotas of source platforms;
- misrepresent Gateway results as verification, certification or endorsement of a technology, provider or claim;
- enter personal, confidential, sensitive or unlawful information into the search field; or
- use the Gateway or its results in violation of applicable rights, licences or laws.
Access may be limited when necessary to protect the service or source platforms.
4. External sources and links
The Gateway links to websites and records maintained by third parties. Those sites are outside the Gateway’s control and may apply their own terms, privacy notices, licences and access conditions.
External links are provided for convenience and informational purposes. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement of any technology, provider or claim. Users should verify information with the original source before making technical, legal, investment or commercial decisions.
5. Availability and accuracy
The Gateway and its materials are provided on an “as available” basis. Search results may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, translated, automatically classified or temporarily unavailable because source sources use different systems and update schedules.
No representation is made that a technology is available for transfer, suitable for a particular purpose, free of third-party rights or legally protected in any jurisdiction. Users are responsible for conducting their own technical, legal and commercial due diligence.
6. Intellectual property
Metadata, descriptions, trademarks and linked materials may belong to their respective source institutions or rights holders. Access through the Gateway does not transfer any ownership or licence.
Materials accessed through an external source remain subject to that source’s applicable copyright, licence and use conditions.
7. Country and area nomenclature
Country and area labels are provided for search and discovery and may reflect terminology used by source platforms. Their presentation does not express a position concerning legal status, authorities, frontiers or boundaries.
8. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the beta service or indexed sources change. The current revision date will be displayed on this page.
